Ask Claude for award seats. It will actually go and look.

ClassFlyer runs as an MCP server, so Claude, ChatGPT and Cursor can search live award availability, price a redemption against the cash fare, and set a watch that keeps running after the conversation ends. One URL. No API key to paste.

Add it

Thirty seconds, and the sign-in happens in your browser the first time you ask for something.

Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Cursor, or any MCP client: add the server by URL.

    "classflyer": {
      "type": "url",

Clients that speak OAuth sign you in automatically on the first tool call. For one that does not, run npx mcp-remote https://api.classflyer.com/mcp instead.

You will need a ClassFlyer account, which is free and takes about as long as the install. Create one.

What you can ask for

Find seats

Cached availability by date, then a real live search against the airline when it matters.

  • “Business class from Copenhagen to Tokyo in March, on points”
  • “Anywhere warm from Stockholm in February for under 60,000 points”
  • “Confirm that CPH to JFK seat on the 14th is really there”

Decide whether to burn the points

The cash fare beside the redemption, and what a point is actually buying on this route.

  • “Is 60,000 points a good deal for Oslo to New York in business?”
  • “What does that flight cost in cash right now?”
  • “Show me the best value-per-point redemptions out of Scandinavia”

Keep watching after you close the tab

Standing goals and scheduled check-ins that report through your alerts, not through the chat window.

  • “Watch this route and tell me when two business seats open”
  • “Check this every morning for the next two weeks”

Put a trip together

Round trips priced as journeys, positioning and feeder flights, connection risk from real operating history.

  • “Ten nights somewhere in Asia in November, out and back, for two”
  • “How do I get from Bergen to the Copenhagen departure?”
  • “Is a 55 minute connection at Amsterdam actually safe?”

Every answer says how fresh it is

The reason to use this rather than an assistant guessing from memory, and the reason to trust it over a tool that hands a model a number with no provenance.

Award seats disappear. A confident answer about a seat that is already gone is worse than no answer, and it is the oldest complaint in award search. So every result we hand your assistant carries a label, and the assistant is told to read it out:

liveConfirmed against the airline just now. Bookable as stated.
cacheReal availability, mirrored hours ago. May already be gone.
historyOur own record of past searches. A prior, never today.
chartA published award price. What a seat costs, not whether one exists.
accountYour own cart, alerts and preferences.

Where certainty matters, the answer also names the tool that will go and check. Ask your assistant to confirm before you book and it knows exactly what to call.

It is the same account, not a separate one

  • A seat your assistant puts in the cart is in the cart when you open ClassFlyer.
  • A watch it sets shows up in your Alerts, and mails you when it fires.
  • A live search it starts keeps running after you close the chat, and reports when it lands.
  • Your home airports, cabin and alliance preferences already apply.

What it costs

A free account can connect and make a small number of tool calls a day, enough to try a few real queries; Premium has no daily ceiling. A free account also has a daily allowance of live searches, the ones that actually go and ask the airline. Reading from what we already hold, award chart prices, observed availability history, route and reliability data, is not metered at all. When your assistant runs into a limit it gets a plain answer saying which limit and what would lift it, so it can tell you instead of quietly failing. A free account searches round trips in Economy; Premium raises the allowance and adds Business and First class.

For developers

Endpoint https://api.classflyer.com/mcp

OAuth 2.1 with PKCE and dynamic client registration, so a client that has never heard of us can enrol itself. Discovery lives at /.well-known/oauth-protected-resource and /.well-known/oauth-authorization-server on the API host. Agents running without a browser can use an API key from the Security section of the account page instead.

The full write-up for agents, including how to read the freshness labels and how to be cheap with the live search, is at /auth.md.

Questions

What is an MCP server?
Model Context Protocol is the standard way an AI assistant connects to an outside service. Adding the ClassFlyer MCP server gives Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor the ability to run real award searches while you are talking to it, instead of guessing from what it read during training.
Do I need an API key?
No. Paste the URL into your assistant and it opens a ClassFlyer sign-in page the first time you use it. You approve once and it keeps working. There is an API key option for agents that run on a server with no browser, but nobody using Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor needs one.
Is the award availability live?
Some of it. A live search confirms seats against the airline as you watch; the wider cache is real availability that can be a few hours old. Every single answer says which of the two it is, and names the tool to call when you need certainty before booking.
Does it cost anything?
A free ClassFlyer account can connect and make a small number of MCP tool calls a day, enough to try it with a few real queries. Premium has no daily ceiling on MCP calls, raises the live-search allowance and unlocks round-trip search.
Which loyalty programs are covered?
SAS EuroBonus and its SkyTeam partners in depth, with more programs behind the same tools. Ask your assistant which programs it can see and it will tell you.
Can I revoke access?
Yes, from the Security section of your ClassFlyer account, at any time. Revoking locks the app out for good.

Or just use it here

The same tools, the same data and the same agent run inside ClassFlyer itself, with a map, a results panel and a cart. Start a search.
